who have never had problems with Ubuntu with creating pdf files, and nothing missing, can skip this article. I was looking for a printer driver that I created pdfs in better formatting and creates smaller files. With Firefox I could be produce on the home page of my bank only miserable pdfs (formatting was wrong) and I have used the Epiphany browser for it. And OpenOffice has me too much creates pdfs.
sudo apt-get install cups-pdf ps2pdf
cups-pdf will add a PDF printer. After the intallation is to find and configure the System> Administration> Printing.
ps2pdf is a text-based converters. Ps pdf., But also that of the cups-pdf-generated files (PDF 1.3) makes compact (PDF 1.4). Example: I create a Calc-list the size of a pdf 109.1 KB. It makes ps2pdf 37.8 KB.
